End the shortage
In truth, the driver shortage is not a shortage of drivers at all. Its an abundance of unwilling men and women who are no longer attracted to the job for the compensation being offered. Our premier retirement program gives them reason to come back and stay for the duration, which by our calculation ranges between 3 and 12 years. The upside to LHTDs is better than anything else on offer.
Grow carriers
The one thing that nobody in long haul trucking seems to understand is that ‘size matters.’ But it must also accommodate its contributors across the board. This is exactly what Truckonomics was designed to facilitate. We want large trucking companies. We want existing companies to grow up to five-times their size over the next 10 years. Our premier retirement program, which gives LHTDs the chance to attain prosperity, is designed to ride on the backs of large and thriving trucking companies.
Secure more freight
To ensure that large fleet owners continue to grow, we aim to secure freight. The advantage that these companies get with using our premier retirement program is the ability to share its benefits with the employees of their customers—manufacturers, distributors, and retailers—in exchange for the promise of moving and warehousing their freight, whenever possible.
Establish new lanes
A lot of what exists today in long haul trucking is the product of 40 years of reaction. This is the nature of Perfect Competition. Companies competing and reacting accordingly. The problem, as it relates to dedicated freight lanes, is that a company can be stretched thin, which impacts service and ultimately profit. Our must as Truckonomics is to concentrate our activity to retain and recruit LHTDs, grow carriers and secure more freight within a geographic boundary. The net effect is a highly efficient and profitable freight lane that makes the next progressive steps a lot easier to establish.
